Students have a six-week summer clinical rotation at the end of their first year. During their second year, students have four, eight-week rotations working in both direct and non-direct patient care.
Unlike other genetic counseling programs, UAMS can accommodate students living in various locations by offering three tracks. While students must be on-campus during the first year, distance training is possible for part of the second year of the program. During the summer between the first and second year, students complete full-time clinical rotations and work on their research projects.
