What you Deliver Citizenship Workshop: You develop and implement pro se citizenship workshops by recruiting pro bono attorneys and volunteers to staff the workshops, organize and conduct pre-workshop CLE training for volunteers, review legal screening to assess suitability for workshop placement, manage workflow at the workshop and collaborate with other NAC partners in organizing mega-regional citizenship workshops. Asylum Office or Immigration Court on matters such as family petition, removal of conditional status, adjustment of status, naturalization, asylum, removal defense, and any immigration proceedings.

Direct representation encompasses the following tasks: conduct legal intake and screening, interview with clients, affiants, witness, experts, case managers, and others who can provide information or statement in furtherance of the principle client's immigration matters; draft, prepare and assemble relevant immigration petitions; conduct legal research; write a memorandum of law, motions or briefs in support of applications and petitions filed before USCIS.

Asylum Office. Maintain a minimum of active cases. At The Door, youth can access health care and education, mental health counseling and crisis assistance, legal assistance, college preparation services, career development, housing supports, arts, sports and recreational activities, and nutritious meals — all for free and under one roof. By providing participants with our suite of integrated services, we seek to provide any motivated young person with the tools, resources, and opportunities needed to successfully transition to adulthood.

Situated within the larger Door community, the Center addresses legal problems in a holistic and client-driven manner. We are committed to building a diverse and inclusive community. Provides community education regarding legal rights and prepares materials relating to these presentations. Maintains contemporaneous time records in the CRLA case management system. Maintains a good working relationship with all members of the office staff.

Other duties as assigned. Demonstrated commitment to working with low-income clients. Excellent written and verbal communication. Able to meet deadlines and perform multiple tasks while maintaining attention to detail. Good people skills and the ability to maintain positive relations with a diverse population. Preferred Education and Experience: A highly qualified and desirable candidate would also have the following: Experience working with low-income families and communities.

Experience in a non-profit legal services environment.
